Little Big Funk

At one time the duo format was something of a restriction on the ability of performers to produce a convincing sound live, however with today‚s technology and with the right musician no such limitations exist. In Matthew Johnson and Gianfranco Biasiol, Lead vocalist Andrew Wood Mitchell has found two keyboard players of enormous talent who are capable of producing a sound that does justice to the Eighties Soul, Disco, Garage, House and Rhythm and Beat tracks they cover. Andrew too has invested in emergent technology enabling him to produce live rich background vocals and studio effects commonly used in today's production, thereby extending the possibilities of the duo format.

No backing tracks, sequencing or any other jiggery pokery. What you hear from the Andy & the Other One duo is performed in the here and now. Matthew Johnson’s array of recording credits are numerous and include British Soul diva Beverly Knight, Garage queen Kim Mazel and is now a full time member of the world famous Jamiroquai. When not on tour with them he works regularly with Andrew Wood Mitchell both in the duo and Andy’s Eleven piece band Big Funk Corporation.

When he’s not available, however, the phenomenal Gianfranco Bisiol is there to fill the void. Italian born Biasiol built up an impressive reputation in his home land writing and producing records for Logos TV, Capogiro Publishing and KD- Music and playing live with a plethora of well known Italian artists such as Tullio De Piscopo, Biagio Antonacci. as well as Billy Cobham, Matt Bianco and Tommy Campbell.

Andrew Wood Mitchell has been writing recording and playing live since the early Eighties. In addition to his innumerable original bands and projects, he has gained considerable experience in the session world singing and playing harmonica for artists that include Natalie Cole, Tom Robinson, Steve Harley, Paul Young, Bill Wyman, Rondor Music and the Evita Film Soundtrack. He formed what was to become Big Funk Corporation in 1990 and the Andy and the Other One Duo in 1988. Celebrity clients include Claudia Schiffer, The Soap Awards, David Genola, Lady Sainsbury, Sol Zantz, Walt Disney and The Variety Club of Great Britain.
